Section 03 · How I work

Clear decisions. Shared context. Work people can respond to.

My superpower is listening closely.

I bring people together, make room for different perspectives, and create the trust a team needs to move through hard decisions.

I help teams understand the full problem, turn complexity into something people can see and discuss, and stay involved through testing and delivery.

01PVH

Frame the decision

I look outward to users, inward to business and technical realities, and across the organization before the team commits to a solution.

In practice

I created a weighted decision matrix to compare 12 omnichannel initiatives against agreed business, customer, technical, and organizational criteria.

12 initiatives prioritized
02PVH

Build shared understanding

I connect perspectives across product teams, specialists, leadership, and users so each decision supports a shared direction.

In practice

I combined stakeholder interviews, employee research, competitor reviews, and initiative analysis into one evidence base for the roadmap.

15 stakeholders · 111 employees
03PVH

Make the experience tangible

I turn research, strategy, and early ideas into journeys, prototypes, diagrams, and decision tools people can respond to.

In practice

I mapped the complete Pick Pack Ship workflow and compared related employee tools before the team committed to interface details.

Test, learn, and deliver

I test with real users, translate findings into design changes, and stay close to development through delivery.

In practice

We tested the concessions prototype with moviegoers before launch, then carried the cross-platform experience through delivery.

Section 04 · How I got here

I followed the part of design I loved most:how people use things.

In the work

Making complex conversations visible, so a group can decide together.

My career moved from physical products to digital services, from Atlanta to New York, China, and Amsterdam, and from agency teams to long-term product partnerships. Usability has stayed constant: understanding what people need, reducing friction, and helping teams deliver the right experience.

    01

Industrial design led me to UX.

At Georgia Tech, human-computer interaction and usability became my favorite part of the design process. At Quirky in New York, I co-created Crates, a modular storage product covered by The New York Times. In Huizhou, China, I designed lighting products close to materials, prototypes, and manufacturing.

    02

Huge Inc. helped me refine my craft at global scale.

Over six and a half years at one of the world’s leading experience design agencies, I grew from trainee to Experience Lead. Long-term assignments for AMC Theatres, UPS, Lowe’s, and Microsoft showed me how global digital products get made. Design sprints with Apple and Google widened my view of how strong teams frame, test, and deliver ideas for millions of users.

Random Studio connected my digital work to physical space.

I moved to Amsterdam for Random Studio and PVH’s Store of the Future. Across Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, I worked on omnichannel strategy, smart retail, and employee tools. The work kept my focus on global-scale products while adding a European and international lens, including privacy expectations, GDPR, cultural context, and distinct brand needs. During the pandemic, I embedded with product and engineering to deliver Ship from Store workflows within three months.

Independent practice made me agile, hands-on, and adaptable.

Through Drinkard Design, I have joined agencies, startups, and product teams at speed. Running my own practice has kept me close to the work while strengthening my ability to read a team, align people quickly, and move from uncertainty to shipped work. Some of my strongest work has come from entering complex environments, earning trust, and helping teams deliver.

StartDock sharpened my storytelling and experimentation.

At StartDock, I help entrepreneurs strengthen products, MVPs, tests, and stories. I guide founders through assumptions, prototype research, and evidence-based product decisions. I also design and test focused AI workflows while keeping judgment, authorship, and the founder’s voice human.

Section 05 · Why bol

How we design
is changing again.

I want to help teams decide what to keep, what to question, and what to try next. These are the parts of my practice I would bring to bol.

The role I’m applying for ↗
01

Give people a reason to agree.

At PVH, I combined stakeholder input, employee research, business goals, and team readiness in a shared decision model. The roadmap gave people a way to discuss tradeoffs and explain priorities.

PVH · Setting direction together ↗
02

Stay close enough to judge the detail.

Store workflows and consumer checkout demand careful interaction design. I work with prototypes, exceptions, research findings, and engineers so a strategy survives contact with real use.

PVH · From research to delivery ↗
03

Change the workflow when the evidence asks.

At StartDock, a broad AI review produced too much feedback and flattened founder voice. My current approach uses smaller tasks, explicit evidence checks, and human review.

StartDock · Learning through AI practice ↗

Where I would begin

Listen to designers, researchers, product, and engineering. Find where the current workflow helps and where teams lose time or quality. Test a small change together, agree how to judge the result, and share what others can reuse.

Section 06 · A personal note

I learned through one shift.
I want to help shape the next.

Principal Craft Lead UX · bol

Dear bol team,

I entered UX in 2013, as responsive websites and apps were changing how companies served their customers. At Huge Inc., I learned alongside people from different disciplines while helping global organizations build products and adapt how they worked.

Over fifteen years in design, I have moved between agency leadership, embedded product teams, and independent strategy work. At PVH, I brought customer, employee, business, and technical perspectives into shared priorities. Much of my work has depended on earning trust and helping people make decisions without formal authority.

Today, I use AI in my work at StartDock. I test focused workflows, challenge generic feedback, and keep evidence, authorship, and human judgment central. The practical questions interest me: where does AI help, where does quality suffer, and how should we change our process in response?

I would love to bring this experience to bol and help shape how your design teams work next. I bring a willingness to question familiar methods, learn with others, and stay close to the detail while setting a shared direction.
